This week, the lovely Linda had us turn Tim's book to page #49, Brushless Watercolor. I can't tell you how to do the technique but you can get it from Tim on his blog. I barely got this one done in time and am scrambling to get it posted now. I finally got the chance to use my new bird and branch die for this tag. I love it. I added glossy accents to my bird after I colored him with my Distress markers and Tim's water-brush. Love that! Of course, I smeared the glossy accents with my finger taking the picture. LOL Kind of like the effect though so I am leaving it alone. You will want to play along because the generous Daisy at Eclectic Paperie is sponsoring a prize for this week's random winner.

Woo-hoo, I had a short day today at work, so got myself into my studio for a day of catch-up. I was very productive! I even finished my faux porcelain flower tag. I love how this turned out. Even went down to the garage and fired up the belt sander to make my spool flat. I had a blast making this one and love all the details! Thanks Tim!
I finally had the time to make the challenge for this one over at the EverythingWendyVecchi yahoo group. For challenge #42, we had to make a tag with a house on it and use at least one of Wendy's stamps. I used Distress Stains to colorize my tag and then blended some brushed corduroy distress ink around the edges. Die-cut some chipboard into the house using Tim's dwellings die and also the windows and door from his movers and shapers. I added some black card-
i have completed one of the challenges for my Outlaw Women's Scrapbook Emporium yahoo group today and am using it to send to Amberlee, my partner for this month's tip-in page as well. Her theme this time around was Music. I am also using it for the Studio L3 challenge that is ongoing over at Linda's blog doing techniques from Tim Holtz's new book Compendium of Curiosities II. This week we had to go to page 38 for the tissue paper wrap. I can't tell you how to do it, you need to buy his book. There is a chance to win a great prize this week also, donated by one of my favorite bloggers, The Funkie Junkie. If you haven't checked out her blog, you need to! Amazing art!

This week over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, they went easy on us and challenged us with "Anything Goes". I think these are my favorites, especially if time is tight. Isn't it always? Anyhoo, here's a pin I made using a recycled Arizona Tea can and a spellbinders die called anenome. I learned it at a store in northern Wisconsin a couple weeks ago. Fun, fun. I am saving "pretty" cans now. I don't hoard enough junk, now even more garbage.
The wonderful hostess, Linda has us turning our books to page #48 this week to make something with Tim's Shattered stains technique. I can't tell you how it's done, but you Simon Says Stamps. So come on and play!

Over at the AllThingsTim yahoo group, out list-
Here is a picture of the cards I made for Mother's Day this year for my Mom, daughters, and one of my sisters as she was here and had given me an early birthday gift, so it doubled as a thank-you card as well. I used lots of Tim/Ranger inks on it and the card itself was one that I learned from the online card class I just finished called, A Cut Above. Great class and they do a wonderful job on these if you are thinking of taking any, I suggest their classes. I also needed to make something with flowers and bling for my OWSE challenge this month, so using this again. I am entering it into the ATT challenge for May as well, using at least tow Tim items and flowers. S

Had a blast up north at the Sayner stampede convention. Came home tired, full, and broke, of course. Bought lots of new goodies as always even though I always say I don't need anything cuz I have it all. LOL Got my challenge for Linda's weekly page from Tim's New book, Compendium of Curiosities II. This week we turned to page 43 and followed Tim's directions for this technique called faded layers. Yum, what lovely results! Over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, they challenged us to use our favorite stamp this week, so I used mine on the same tag to kill two birds with one stone. And speaking of birds, my "current" favorite stamp is this bird from Tim's Urban Tapestry set. I love all birds, but something about this little guy just speaks to me. now to get working on my ticket swaps and get my sewing done. Vacation is over after today and back to the postal grind tomorrow.... why can't I just win the lottery??????

Over at Simon Says stamp and Show, this week's challenge is to show us a Kaleidescope color; and show color, I did!!! I also wanted to create a journal cover for the challenge over at Eclectric Paperie's blog, so I took the cover off of my art journal and gessoed it. After it dried, I added a sheet of Tim's tissue paper toit with Claudene's matte medium. I then added wild honey stain to it and dried it, then worn lipstick stain at the top and sides, misted with water, and let it run and dried it. Then added fired brick stain to the top and sides and listed again and dried it. Then sprayed with Perfect Pearls mist Sunflower and dried it again. Stamped in Archival inks in black, Dyan's leaves and vines and then a few oranges and sepia and crimson some of Tim's and Dyan's background stamps. Then in the center, I used Dyan's words and the black again. You can't see the sparkle in the pictures, but in real life, o pretty. I had a hard time taking the picture without glare so sorry for the angle. Saw the technique in a video and really liked it.

Well, it's week #3 already over at Studio L3's blog with her wonderful challenges from Tim's New Book, hence the title, COC2, Compendium of Curiosities II. This week, we had to turn our books to page #46 for the marbled stains technique. This is really a gorgeous effect and I am starting to really love my stains! We are also in the running for a prize this week, donated from the very generous Eclectric Paperie. They have got so many wonderful things at their site and I have ordered many times and gotten great service! I also signed up for the Rolodex swap over at the ATT yahoo group, so used this as my background. This month the theme was Numbers so you can see I incorporated numbers with Tim and Wendy's stamps and archival inks and distress inks in many colors. I have a few cards I need to get done also, so making this post short and sweet.
