Savanna graduates Aveida

Congratulations to my baby girl, Savanna for graduating from the Aveida Institute in Minneapolis, Mn. She still has 5 or 6 weeks to go to fulfill her hours needed to take her state boards to get licensed but the school portion is over. She was one of four chosen to speak at the ceremony, two from the morning class and two from the afternoon. It was a nice ceremony and we are so proud of her! Now for her to just get a job at a top-end salon up there!

August stamp club gathering

Deb was our hostess for August and these are the cards we made. Had fun using lots of new stuff. We used the new markers on the owl card that was our make and take.

Reese turns One!

We celebrated my youngest grandson, Reese's first birthday today. He was one on July 28th. It was a nice day and a good turnout. My batteries died right after I started taking pictures so don't have many. Hope to get more from Kayla later.

re-vamped dresser-Tim Style

Here is my new dresser to store a lot of my Close To My Heart products in. I started with a $10 dresser I got at a garage sale last year and put in garage and left it there with big plans in my head. LOL Haven't we all done that! Anyway it was that shiny sticker finish with wood-grain pattern on it but nice and solid piece. I used a good primer on it and then painted it black satin for a washable surface. It took several coats to cover without streaking but got it done. i used the Mod-

Podge made for fabric and brushed it on one drawer at a time and then laid the fabric on and tucked around the corners carefully. Once dry, I put the hardware back on with was shiny gold. Didn't like that at all, so off it came again and I sprayed them black. Much better! Love how it turned out!
