Going to try my luck in the August 2024 Pink Fresh Studio challenge- Washi tape.  I have so many sets of it and rarely pull it out. Need to play with it more.

SSSS- Show us Some and Some New

Well, I have been going to do this for some time now so today I finally got two of the years of tags made into a Christmas banner to hang in my family room. I strung it up for the photos but will put it away now for next year and hopefully by then, get the rest of the year's put together onto banners. I used my Cricut to cut the banner pieces out of patterned paper and then glued to an ugly light green cardstock I had a ton of. Never going to use that stuff! Then I cut them all out and added the trim piece in a coordinating color, added eyelets to hold the string. Strung together my 2011 tags(something new) and my 2009 tags (something old) from Tim's Twelve Days of Christmas. Why did I skip 2010 you ask??? Because I can't seem to find where I hid those away!!! I found 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011. I am so organized here, NOT!!! It was a fun project and they will look great wen I have them all the way around my family room. Making Canvases with the Grands

Today was a relaxing play-day in the new, clean studio with two of my grandkids, Victoria, 11, and AJ, 7. We decided to try our hand at making canvases. They are 5" x 7" in size. First we gessoed them, then after drying, added Distress stains and then sprayed the top with water and let them run down. AJ definately had the coolest background! Then after some more drying, we stamped a few background stamps of Tim's and Dyan's in several Archival Ink colors. They had a lot of fun with that. Next we stamped our images of Tim's for AJ's, Dyan's for Victoria's, and Wendy's for mine onto white tissue paper and then adhered it to the canvas with Mod Podge. Dawned on me afterwards, to add some distress ink on a blending tool for some depth so AJ's got that but not mine. LOL, So I added it after the mod podge dried. I altered a picture frame to offer the winner from my blog using crackle paints and distress inks after painting with gesso. I made some roses out of patterned paper and then dipped them into melted UTEE as I saw on Sherry Cleaver's blog a while back to make a faux porcelain rose. Cut the leaves with my big shot, inked them and dipped those also.
