My granddaughter's best friend, Olyvia, comes with her to visit us sometimes and they can't be pried out of my studio while they are here. She just loves crafting and of course, so does Victoria. Olyvia's birthday was in June and we have been anxiously waiting for them to have her party but they still haven't had any time that worked out for them this summer, so we took the matter into our own hands yesterday. We surprised her with a little celebration in her honor here. She was surprised, too! So was Victoria! Two of my daughter's pitched in and we got her a Cuttlebug, several embossing folders, a few dies, a paper trimmer, and a pack of colored cardstock and a few rubber stamps and an acryllic block so she can create at home, too. We had balloons and cupcakes and ice-cream after supper. It was so fun! Olyvia just turned nine and in the past year she has lost a Grandmother, Grandfather, and now her 13 year old sister to cancer so we tend to spoil her a bit when she comes here. She spends a lot of time at Angela's house with Victoria ans she even asked if she can call me "Grandma Kathy" now. I told her, of course she can.... everyone needs an extra Grandma!
