Guess what? It's Monday again, so my new friend Linda posted this week's Challenge from Tim's new book. I can't believe it's already the 7th week of these CCC's. This week we were to turn to page 55 and try out the Tinted Vision Fragments technique. Can't tell you how to do it, you have to buy Tim Holtz's book, trust me, you will be thanking me once you have it! This is a great one and I love my results, even though I glued mine on with the wrong side facing up! Of course I couldn't stop at one, so made three of them and you know; glues them all down the wrong way! LOL And I still love it! I zoomed in on each of the fragments to show you these also.

We had a birthday get-together for my Mom Saturday as my sister Patty, her husband and youngest son and a couple who are their best friends were here for the day on the way back home to Cincinnatti from a vacation in Wisconsin Dells. Of course, I waited until Saturday morning after I got done at work to make her a card! Why do I do that? She loves pink and flowers, and I wanted to try out a new Martha lace punch I picked up a couple of months ago and hadn't used, so here is what I whipped up. The background is a shaving cream piece I had in the drawer. Going to have to have the grand-kids make me some more of these next time they come over.

I finally got my CCC #6 done for this week. It is found on page 66 of Tim's book and is called Mutil Medium Collage. I have had this jar of Claudine's medium for a long time and this is the first I have used it. Wow, is this nice stuff! I used an old text book that was my Dad's from his teaching or college days. I think college days because I found a treasure inside; a folded up sheet of class notes in his handwriting. I haven't seen anything he wrote in 16 years now, so this was a great find! I used chipboard die cuts of Tim's of course and wrinkle free distress for the background. Stamped the flourishes in my new fave Pumice Stone. Punched out and embossed a bird and rubbed with again, pumice stone and gave him a distress stickle eye to perch on the signpost.

CCC Week#5- Well, I got my computer back and I don't know if it's faster or not, but I know it is certainly faster then that old spare one I have been using this week! I had fun doing this week's challenge, Distress Embossing, found on page 43 of Tim's book. I masked off my deer image to stamp the trees but I think I got a bit carried away stamping in the scenery elements with various colors of distress inks. It got too busy but mine is very different from the others I've seen this week. I did it right away Monday but had no way to post it until now.

Stephen is hosting a 6-4-6 tag swap in the All Things Tim Holtz yahoo group and I have been wanting to sign up but have had no time to create so I waited until I had the tags actually made before I signed up. We were required ti use Tim's new embossing folders somewhere on our tags and it was Artist's Choice other than that. I decided to emboss the entire tag using the brick wall folder. I used barn door, fired brick, and aged mahogony inks on my craft sheet and misted it with shimmer mist made of barn door ink refill and gold perfect pearls and swiped the tage thru them before embossing. I went over the embossed bricks with Pumice stone ink to highlight the raised areas. I used Tim's die to cut chipboard shapes and paint dabbers abd did the shabby Chic technique on these. Pop-dotted them, added tissue tape to the bottoms, and tied on some torn fabric strips. Can't wait to see what I get back and hope whoever gets mine will enjoy them!

In my Everything Wendy Vecchi yahoo group, I joined the birthday club for this year, so whenever someone in the club has a birthday, you send a card and goodies if you choose to them sometime during their birthday month. I got so many wonderful things for making art and some gorgeous Art and wonderful card in May! This month it was Allie and Liz who get the goodies and I got both of them made up on the holiday since I had a day off from work, I chose to lock myself in my studio all day and play. I tired those tiny 2"x2" canvases out and the technique Tim had on his blog last week. Fun. I made an A for Allie and an L for Liz. Used my fabric and denim flowers again on their cards and lots of texture fades. Fun!

Well, July wraps up the name swaps in my Atc's are Us yahoo group and this month we made for the listmums, Shirley and Marge. I, once again, used my crossword puzzle backgrounder to make them up. These were a lot of fun to make for everyone in the group.

I had the day off today, so got to play in my studio at my leisure today. Yeah! I got my week #4 challenge done today for the CCC on Linda's blog. Using the Shabby Chic technique of Tim's new book. This is a fantastic technique and I am definately making more things with this one. Simple!

Remember when I signed up to do the Collaborative Chaos tag swap on All Things Tim Yahoo group? Well, I was in group #3, so we all just got a blank canvas and loose tags back. Well, I finally have gotten mine assembled to my liking and just need to hang it somehow now.I painted mine black and then stamped randomly with golden mist Opalite ink. I used black cardstock and Tim's on the edge dies and new texture fade folder to make the top and side pieces and rubbed the raised portions with the same Opalite ink pad. I used Tim's Vintage Market letter die to cut the word Chaos out of gold metallic cardstock for the Header. Jump rings to add the stamped gears to the strip I made for the bottom. I used sticky-back Velcro to attach my tags so that I can take them off to see who made them again if I need to. This turned out great. We are mow doing one in my Everything Wendy Vecchi group so I will be adding that one later once they are swapped out and I have assembled it. What fun! ( I added some close-ups to show some details)
